Is vue d`esprit 4 the first version to work with poser? I was just wondering because Vue d'Esprit 3.1 LE (Full product) is free with computer arts 100th issue. A demo of Vue d'Esprit 4 is on the cd too.

The only problem with the version on the disc is that it will only render at a specific size. But I took up their offer and bought the full 3.1 version for 31. They said there would be a discount making it 19.99, but for some reason it didn't work for me. I don't mind spending the extra though 'cos it's not a lot to pay for a full 3D app. 8) Catlin

If you mean the direct opening of PZ3 files, yes, I think 4 is the first. You can still do the old-fashioned OBJ export to 3.1, of course.
Just a note: the free 3.1 is limited to 1024 x 768 renders, but is otherwise complete as far as I know. Hoping to pick up a copy this weekend.
Oops, cross-post! :}

1024 x 768 renders are big enough for me. As long as it can do dvd sized renders then that is ok.

Vue4 is the first version that can directly import a pz3, and you have to tell vue where poser.exe is. Vue will not import a pz3 if you do not have poser installed. ( the License with CL requires this to make sure you have poser ) get the free vue3 then upgrade to 4, this makes texturing the figures easy, as the poser texture data is complete. importing the obj and adding the tex map in vue is a bit problematical. but gotta love vue's rendering engine, slow but fantastic renders.

I thought Vue had been able to directly open pz3 files since they (eon) had created Mover which came out when they were still at V2 of Vue? am I wrong?

I heard over at the Bryce forum that Vue might be bringing out a version 5 soon. Does anyone know anything about this?
