it's very close to reality, the only thing i would suggest is reworking the bottle reflection a bit. aside from that, excellent :)

Thanks for the tip, buddy, but if you could be more specific on that, dunno are U thinking that it needs more or less of it ? :) What about name, have no idea how to call it, "At Drac's cafe" maybe, lol !
Sambucus posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 12:29 AM
Love that soup.
Unless the colour of my monitor is off, always a possibility, I think the wine botle is too bright, almost as if its lit from inside. Or it
s cherryade.
Drac`s Cafe? Nah, The knives would be sharper and there would be an eyeball swimming in the soup. LOL
draculaz posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 12:33 AM
drac's cafe would have a bit more salt, kthx :P i'm saying that instead of that square (possibly a window or something, it would be better to get a barn image and use that for the reflection. make a sphere around the scene, map it, and re-render it. that way the new reflections will enhance the realism of the pic :)

The modelling and rendering are really great. I love the soup, and the pepper and salt, and the light reflected on the table through the wineglass. Yeah, I feel the wine bottle looks too much like cherryade as well, but then I don't know that wine.... The cutlery maybe looks a little bit dull. But the whole thing is most excellent :o))

Excellent job on this so far...is the wine bottle full, or is the bottle red? The wine bottles I've seen were tinted green (at least, "the good stuff", lol), maybe that's what the others are missing here. I think a glass with wine in it would also be appropriate, something my eye expects to see in the image. (Wine bottle, where's the glass, pour me one.)

Hmmmm, i did made this bottle red, actually there is nothing arround this scene, only one regular lite...Dunno how reflection sphere would work here, cuz atmosphere is complitely off ?!? Any ideas ??? Specularity thing is square cuz i did not smooth the bottle, kind of forgot about it, but i liked the result, so i kept it !!! :)

Green or blue glass for the wine bottle maybe? That's what we have in Australia. I really like the soup, looks tasty.

hmmm Merlot Zonin is not the best one LOL: I think it is really well done the image, but the bottle is too red, try to shift to brown a little bit...
drawbridgep posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 9:45 AM
I'd vote for a green bottle with red contents. But have to say that this is amazing! Get it in the gallery so I can vote on it.

Are you gonna invite us all for dindins Kemal? It all looks very convincing, you've done a great job on it. 8)

Really, get that bottle color nailed then put it up in the gallery. This is so worthy of the hot20.
pakled posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 10:46 AM
can't tell from the chunks in the soup, but from the looks of the wine (is Merlot a red or a white?..;), it should be chicken or fish..;) you can tell I'm not James Bond..;)

increase the reflection on the knife, fork, and spoon... they look like they're made out of polished ceramic. the wine bottle looks almost empty because it's so red. this is one of the best bryce renders i've seen in years.
kiwi_gg posted Sun, 08 August 2004 at 1:35 PM
Prefer a good Shiraz myself, yes the bottle colour should be green and I agree that the spoon etc needs a more polished/shiny appearance. Cheers GG.
