It's very nice! She reminds me a lot of the Anna Marie Goddard character at DAZ. But you've asked a question that is hard to answer. There are a LOT of textures out there, so the more unique or realistic a texture is, the better it sells. I know it's a vague answer, but it's so hard to tell! What extras will you include with the texture?

Imo there are too many textures already. Given the fact that some go at $5-9,offer good quality and include a complete character, you must come up with something very special if you want to sell a lot.
I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

I agree with Deecey, it is very nice. But I think 15 bucks is pretty high for just a texture. In that price range I believe a character MOR usually goes with it. Textures only usually go for around 6 to 10, I think. And uniquness DOES count.
PS: Don't be surprised if this gets moved to the Product Showcase forum.

it also depends on who you sell it thru and how much cut they get...Renderosity has a 50/50 split...other stores have different splits..or you can sell it on your own and not split with anyone...:>)

"win" usually refers to matters of chance... and I believe that you want "earn" which is a reward for skill. It takes skill to make a good texture. With all of the photo-realistic textures available now, users have high expectations. Seams must match. It must look good in various lights. It would perhaps also help if there was something unique about it if you were trying to sell the texture by itself. This doesn't mean loading the pack with 20 shades of lipstick! However makeup, tattoos, wrinkles, water drops, whatever, have been used to give various textures a bit of character. I've seen various bodypaints or seasonal or magical looks used as the "hook" to attract buyers. And, yes, I do have to move this to Product Showcase. Carolly Poser Coordinator

To give you an idea, my Dhara has sold about five times. She's at 15$, I make 7.50$ per sale. Like Aeneas said. Textures have to have SOMETHING that catches someone's eye, or you have to be friends with a LOT of people who will, dependably, do images of your character in the galleries, ETC. Basically, someone who will pimp your product to the masses for you. Or, prepare to build her up for a while before releasing her.

You'll never know for sure until you try.
Yes, as others have already mentioned -- a $15.00 price tag should include a character, as well as a texture. For a texture only, my personal "comfort zone" lies in the $5.00 to $8.00 range. And it would need to be a good texture to attract my attention in the first place.
Your texture looks like a good texture.
From what I can see of it, your texture looks like something that would sell. I'd say give it a try.

There's so many caucasian Vicky textures out there. I just don't need another one. And since I'm not much of a texture collector, I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'd be more interested in other skin colors. Dark skins, with accurate palms and feet soles. (If you don't show me the palms in your product promo, forget it. I'll assume you didn't do it.) Asian/African/Native American characters who AREN'T paler than I am. Characters who have features that aren't blatantly European. This of course doesn't help with this texture, but it's something to consider in the future. Look at what is filling the marketplace, then fill the gap instead of following the crowd. As for this character, keep in mind who you're competing with. The Pretty Baby set here particularly comes to mind.

I will buy textures of any and all ethnicities. As far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as "too many". Each one is unique.
As long as the price is right.
I have bought lots of caucasian Victorias, and I will be happy to see lots more of the same offered in the Marketplace.
I'll also be happy to see African, Indian, Japanese........
Keep 'em coming. You've got a market. Not everyone's taste is inclined in the same direction -- but I would suggest taking a look at the "top sellers" list.
