Hello ;) I'm having problems to find the way to save a file (pz2 or pz3) into a .rsr file. I would like to share a figure of my own, but am beeing nut to find the way to convert files. I suppose there's a converter for rsr files? Or am I wrong? If am wrong, which is the way to save a file as rsr please? Thanks so much, Venux3-DArena posted Tue, 10 August 2004 at 6:43 PM

rsr convertor is available in free stuff here. Creating rsr files with it - thre is an old tutorial for that on my site - about to update it to the newer tutorial I wrote recently though.

/RSR files are the thumbnails that show up in yr library in P4...they get created automatically when you save a figure/ prop/ pose/ etc in the Library (the pop out list @ the right). Pro Pack & P5 users don' need 'em, as those progs use .png thumbs which are smaller & widely supported by image viewin' sofware. If ya want to/ need to make custom .rsr thumbs, I believe P3DO Explorer (a free app) does that, as well as RSR Converter (also free....just search the FreeStuff section here)

I have Poser 5. I went to check into my pose folder to see how people save their figures to share them with other, and have seen each of them does have an rsr file in. The thing is... To safe a figure I've done myselves into the library and to be sure the figure will be applied to my V3, what I have to do? After I've done my figure, I went to create a folder into the POSE folder with the name of the figure in. Then I've added my figure in that folder directly with Poser 5. But once I've got Victoria 3 and I tried to apply my own character over her, nothing happened. Looking in the POSE file I find only RSR, PZ2 (I have the pz2 of my figure), and png (which would have to be the one showing into my library). So I have supposed my figure can't be applied over Victoria because the RSR file is missing. Am I wrong? Am a bit lost sob. And my weird English doesn't help that much. Hope you've understood what I mean to say. Thanks for the kind help which is a lot appreciated, Barbara

Are you trying to create a file that saves the morph information? If so, you need to save a Pose file and make sure to say "Yes" when it asks, "Include morph channels in pose set?" Another way to do it is to get DAZ 3D's Injection Pose Builder which will let you save only the morph information. The .rsr and .png files that you see in the Pose library are library thumbnails. This is what tells Poser what the file looks like. (.rsr is for P4, .png is Poser Pro Pack and P5. For best compatibility, make sure to create a .rsr file for P4 people. 3D0 Software will do that for you.) Hope this helps, Cres

RSR has nuttin' to do w/ saving poses. If it din't work, it would be because A) when ya saved ya didn' select "Save Morph Targets", B) ya tried to put it on V3 Base, which doesn't take morphs, or C) Ya din't inject the morfs into the new V3 yr applyin' the pose to. Or sumpin'

Then is possible I haven't done the 3rd thing, didn't inject the morph into the new V3. Wondering if I can do that now, re-saving my figure. I'll try. Thanks for these explanations, now I finally now what a rsr file is for ;=) Barbara

I forgot about injecting the morphs, thanks FreeBass. IPB will also put the information into the Pose file so the morphs will inject into V3 at the same time. You can also type the information in by hand into a Pose file but if you have a lot of morphs, it will take a while. Cheers!

I have the injection magic from DAZ. Now I know what I've done wrong. Is a thing about that programm I have not understood. When it ask for giving a name (head asiatic, head nordic and so going on for example), I haven't understood what I exaclty have to write in. When I tried to write something I've got the error, and the programm has told me prrrrrrrrr you've given a wrong name! LOL! Dunno which names I gotta write there and is not written in the help section. Barbara
