Sometimes the simplest things in life are the best. Don't know why I Just noticed, but there is nothing like this available. It's just one of those 10 minute things to do. And I had done it so long ago I didn't think that someone else might want it (This one has a better proportioned template though). It's one of those things that might have come with Poser but didn't. So when you need it where is it? So here it is! A UV mapped product box. Very simple indeed! Who knows when you'll need to design the next product box for Poser 5? Heheheheh Enjoy. And grab it in the Free Stuff section. James
James - I noticed you used UVMapper to texture map the box (thanks for the mention in the readme =) but was wondering what you used to model it. UVMapper only generates boxes with six facets, this one has many (very nice if you need to deform it!) Thanks, Steve
Funny thing about that Steve ... It's been so long, but I believe I started out with a box from Infini-D (Saving as a 3DMF mesh -- this is where the facets start), and brought it into Poser, saved it as an obj from Poser, and viola, in UVM it ends up with facets. And I do remember runing into strange problems, that it would map corectly if I just did a plain box in Infini-D so I tried 6 flat panels, I think that's what finally worked ..remember I'm trying to get a 3DMF mesh to an OBJ file, lots of inconsistancys in them when it comes to primitives. Anyway It fianlly worked ;-) And intentionally, this way you can bend the box if nessasary. And easy enough to take back into another program and double or triple the facets for smoother bends. James PS: Just attach a magnet to it ;-)
