I remember recently you mentioned working on a tutorial on how to get figures from Creaure Creator into Poser and poseable. Is that on hold? If not, how is it coming? Just curious... HG...

HG, Its on the list of things to do. Its in my head. I can spew it out here in the forum if you need help getting started. My wife is starting a new business and Im helping her as well as the forum moderation, Hawkin-Z GraF-X new products and my day gig...oh yea - 2 kids also. Oh yea, My band is working on a new CD so thats in the mix also.. Man - 24hrs isnt enough time for a day! Or, maybe I can just do away with sleep. ;) Yea thats the ticket! Do you have Creature Creator? If so ..Its pretty easy to do. Make the figure in CC. Export or save the figure from CC as a .3DS file (3D Studio MAX). Import the .3DS file into Carrara. Highlight the object in Carrara. Export from Carrara as OBJ. Delete the .3DS object in Carrara. Import the .OBJ file you just Exported into Carrara. I cant remember all the Import settings off the top of my head. I think I bring it in as a single Mesh. Open it up in the Vertex modeler and start selecting body areas and name them. Does that help? If not let me know. Clint I need more caffine!

Cool... Will doing that allow you to make the figure poseable in Poser? That would be excellent. If not, I guess I could surf over to Poser forum and look at info there. I know what you mean about too much on the plate! Good luck with everything! What genre of music does your band do? Well, I'll look into starting a Carrara ICQ group and get back to ya... HG...

HG, Yes, There are more steps after doing the mesh split and naming in Carrara like creating a PHI file, setting Joint Parameters, creating a UV Map etc... Its a pretty long process. The PFO!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!! Just kidding. Yea - They might have some info over there. I like to be busy.. ;) Its a good thing. The band is kinda New Age Rock. I would say its a cross between Enigma and Pink Floyd. ;) All original. We are in the studio recording the CD at this time. Looking for a early 2001 release date. The bands name is Enaura (The all encompasing aura around the Earth). I will be posting the CD cover art here within the next few months looking for input from the forum! If you have anymore questions on the figure creation please feel free to ask. I will be glad to share my knowledge. I just havent had time to put it all together into one place other than my head. ;) Talk with ya soon! Clint

Very cool info about the Creatures, and the band! I'd love to hear some of your stuff. (I'm also about to release a solo project -- more like Enya + Alan Parsons + Mozart + Pet Shop Boys.)

I would very much like to hear your music, guys. I'm not in a band, but I play guitar (stubby fingers), and I'm interested in the relationship between art and music. Any MP3's you'd be willing to part with? I don't know if my local stores are going to carry Enaura or ChipzTuneZ (I had to make that band name up, since you didn't say what it was) One would do, I wouldn't want you boys to think I was going to pirate it on Napster or anything. :) Hoborg
