I thought they were going to announce the cover contest winners today. I've searched the site and magazine and haven't found a thing?

It's still on the "Contest In Voting Stage" page at the moment.

ok, thanks the contest rules said today, I just thought they would have posted it by now.

Aside from the contests forum, how exactly are we supposed to know there's a cover contest? I failed to see any mention of it on the front page.

Yeah, this is starting to go a bit over time. Or someone really loves drama and is building up excitement. Whatever is the case, I can't really sit still over here. :)
Perhaps I'll go for a run... EDIT: Where exactly will they announce the results?

WOO! Second runner up. I guess that's not bad for a first competition entry I've ever made.

We know how everyone looks forward to seeing who won the cover contest. The vote finished on schedule, but we had some unavoidable challenges to posting the results. The entries were excellent and we are thrilled to have so many great graphics to choose from.
The cover contest was advertised on the Renderosity front page...once the contest was closed, it was removed from the front page while voting was being done. We also advertise the cover contest on The Renderosity Interactive Magazine website and on the Renderosity Magazine Information! forum.
Congratulations to the winners, and to everyone who entered. You truly allow us to set a high standard for the covers of The RIM, and that is something we are very proud of.
Don't forget that the Writing Contest: "Scared of You" closes on August 19, 2004 at 12 noon Renderosity Time.

Perhaps I missed some info, but is the magazine site a pay site?

The magazine subscription is $25, and subscribers get access to the website as part of their subscription. But you don't have to be a subscriber to participate in the cover contest or the writers contest. In fact, a subscription is part of the prize package if the winner is not already a subscriber.

Ok so what do those who subscribe to the magazine get, that the rest of us peons over here loyaly supporting the main site do not get?

I'm afraid anything I said in response would get this thread moved to the Product Showcase, so my suggestion is to look at the description of the magazine in the Marketplace, or look at the information posted in the Magazine Interactive forum. I was not trying to sell a subscription...I was honestly trying to respond to the questions asked about the contest and the magazine. I'm very proud of working on The RIM. Is it for everyone? Probably not, but that's true of most things. Again, my congratulations to those who entered the contest, those who won, and those who put their time, effort and talent into a creative endeavor. Your participation and interest is greatly appreciated. And the resulting graphics are a treat to view. And I am off this thread because I need to focus on a special RIM contest that will be opening up soon, and I am (as always) behind on getting things done. Take care all. dialyn Editor in Chief The RIM WebsiteGrey_Tower posted Tue, 17 August 2004 at 6:32 PM

In a nutshell, you get insightful tutorials, interesting interviews, hilarious comics and cartoons, delightful freebies offered by merchants from their products, and fantastic forums. What's offered on the website is availabe only to subscribers.
Is it worth it? I think so.
