Make sure you download version 2000b. It's the newest version and has some cool stuff added to it. HG...

I hate 2000b. I hate it so much I went and found a copy of 98 to install. Benefits? Well, 98 doesn't take up 25% of my system's resources, and it does EXACTLY what I need it to do, namely, talk and share files with my cohorts. It may even support intrest groups. If not, I'll stick with it. I can talk to you guys here. :) 2000b has SO MUCH stuff that I don't need and takes up a lot of my screen in addition to the resources. Hoborg

Hoborg... Yeah, 2000b uses a lot of resources, but not THAT much, and it can do JUST the 98 version stuff - it doesn't have to be set up to do EVERYTHING. That's why they have a lot of their stuff as downloadable plugins now. And as far as taking up too much screen space - I don't understand that. Do you have it docked on your desktop? I just have the icon running in my taskbar over next to the clock, and the window only pops up when I right-click it to send someone a message. I hate the dock feature just because it DOES take up too much screen space. That's why I never use it. But hey, to each his own. Some people love ICQ, and some people hate it. And having an older version shouldn't lock you out of the interest group since it is web-based really... just surf over to check it out. So far Clint and I are the only ones on it... 8^) HG... P.S. Just out of curiousity, Hoborg. Just how much RAM do you have? 25% of resources sounds like a lot. Maybe ICQ takes up more than I realize....

Not much.:) I have 96 megs of Ram on a PII/400. It does take up quite a bit, and i can't get rid of all the features I don't use. But I will surf over there and sign up later today.
