I've grown hair on V3's head (in p5), and done some other changes to V3 AFTER the hair was grown. I now need to start a new model of V3, but I want to save the hair that I've already made on the first model (it took way too long to do that hair - even though it looks simple - for me to have to go back and do it again later). The hair was made/grown in 3 parts. I've tried using the grouping tool in the Pose room, as the hair is divided into 3 props (in the Figure1 > Props section beneath the document window). But for some reason the grouping tool doesn't want to group the 3 parts of the hair all into one piece. I was going to group all 3, export them as a whole, then import them and save it to my library pallet. Is it because I didn't use a skull cap? What should I do? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Oh Dear. I hate to be the harbinger of bad news but I'm afraid the only way to save that hair now is to save Vicky and the hair attached as a whole. You always need to use a scull cap as it acts as the parent for the hair. When saving to the library, you save the scull cap and the hair attached to it. Have a look at my hair tutorials on www.neilp.co.uk. Poser... it's all a painful learning exercise.

You can try saving the hair as a prop and use the "Select Subset" option to select all 3 parts. (see graphic)
-= OR =-
You can "Export" all 3 parts together and then "Import" what you just exported... and ... all 3 objects will now be a single object. This is known as Doc Geep's "glue" and it's used to put things together. ;=]

I tried that. but when I rendered it, the hair didn't show up. and the hair no longer acted as hair in the hair room. :( course, i didn't do the select subset thing... i basically just exported all 3 pieces as an .obj file, then imported them back in. i'll try it again and see... thanks :)

That is because ...
Poser does NOT export (in the Surface Material) ...
Transparency data
-= OR =-
Reflection data
You must redo these parameters after Importing an object.
