The Navigation bar at the top of the site (the bar that displays links such as...Galleries, Tutorials, Contests, etc) has been listed in the forums as an issue. We would like to hear from you on this area and ask that you place your vote on what you would like see happen with this top nav bar. This poll will be active for 2 weeks and will be removed September 7th, 2004. Comments will be accepted but we will use the poll results to determine the outcome. Please place your vote.mateo_sancarlos posted Mon, 23 August 2004 at 9:45 PM
There may be a programming error in the voting form: Keep the graphic and links that is disp Display links only and remove the graph The above is how it looks in my browser. I'm guessing all the people who hated the slow-loading jpeg text "nav-bar" will vote to "remove the graph", but it looks like the wording is already confusing somebody, who may have thought it refers to the banner and logo.

Okay...NOT going to vote until the wording is more clear. I want to be SURE that I vote for getting rid of the darn slow thing!

Judging by the comments, people aren't understanding what they're voting for/about. Several seem to think the question is "get rid of the top navigation entirely" or "leave it alone". You probably want to define what you're actually asking so that you get a more valid response. If someone asked "Should we get rid of the top navigation entirely" I'd say "Of course not!" but get rid of the graphical links? You bet! bonni

I make every effort to stay very positive about Renderosity, because I love the site and the artists who "reside" here.
But I have to say, that this poll is becoming a total waste of effort because the poll question STILL remains unclear as to what the issues are that are supposed to be polled.
If you just read the comments that are being left on the poll page it is obvious that many people do not understand what the issues are that people have been complaining about for the past several months. There are alot of comments about the drop-down menus on the right side of the page (or as some people prefer, on the left side). There are comments about the banner ads that appear at the top of the page. Some people believe that what is being polled is the total REMOVAL of the navigation bar rather than replacing the graphical-based nav bar with a speedier text-based nav bar.
I'm really afraid that the results that administration is going to get from this poorly worded poll are going to be pretty meaningless. I think they should seriously consider getting the wording reworked so that it is crystal clear what the issues are being discussed and restart the poll.

I think that I voted, but I shut the window on the "Artist of the Month". I didn't have to time to review their work. Did my vote still go through?

FrenchToast, I think that if you go back to the Poll page and all you see are the current results %'s, that means they've got your vote. If the radio buttons are there to cast a vote, then your vote didn't go through. I think! LOL Kat

3dHut I was thinking the same thing when I read some of the comments that people had left. I think that a number of those voting do not understand exactly which part they are voting on.
