So, I toodle off for a couple days, come back to see if there's anything interesting in the Rhino forum and what's the first thing I get? A bloody pop-up error message. Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly. What frickin' ActiveX? And why do you people now find it necessary to run things that most people have disabled in their browser? Good grief. What's next?

It more than likely the flash banners. Clint

If it's the flash banners, how come it's only just started happening today? I've had those banners blocked since you guys introduced them and have never seen an error message, and I've even been posting here quite recently. Today I'm getting that on every single page.

Might be the new flash banner on the side bar? Other than that nothing has changed today. Clint

BTW - There really isnt a need to block flash if your worried about security issues. We screen all banners before they are placed into rotation. FYI, Clint

Flash banner on the side bar? Oh cool.. yeah, that might be it then. I'll re-edit my settings to reflect that. Thanks. No it's not because of security issues that I block them, I just can't stand things that flash, blink, shimmer or do much of anything. If I want animation I'll go to the movies. :) Also, on dial up this site is heavy enough to load without interminable banners that do nothing for me except clutter the page and give me a headache.

Woohoo. That worked. Thank you Clint. Now I know what caused it, I fixed it. :)

Heh, I doubt you're that happy Clint but thanks. :) Not so much back as I never really left, I just limit what I do and where I do it more these days. Probably much to everyone's relief. Still, I just can't avoid the Rhino forum, Xurge and Teyon are such great fun.

"Xurge and Teyon are such great fun." I agree. :) Great guys! "I doubt you're that happy Clint but thanks." Oh now...I'm usually a very happy person. (smile) Dont limit us to much - The site is so busy if you stay gone to long everything changes. (wink) Clint

Oh now...I'm usually a very happy person. Not going there.... nope nope nope, not at all. I really don't think that would be a good thing. smirk if you stay gone to long everything changes Yeah, I sorta noticed that. Sometimes on a daily basis, and not always for the better. But that's another, seperate debate entirely. I'll leave you in peace to enjoy what's left of your day and go harrass someone else for a while. Have fun.

Okay, I came to this forum to find out how to get rid of these annoying Active X warnings. I am not going to change my security settings, because I've already had a trojan and a malicious worm delivered through Active X. I don't know how to change settings to stop this annoying pop-up. I need very simple directions...(not being a techie). It's really spoiling the fun. Like Questor, "I just can't stand things that flash, blink, shimmer or do much of anything." either.... Help would be appreciated.
