Hi.
Haven't been here in quite a while, but I figured it was about time I explored my old stomping grounds.
To agiel: I see you're the Mod now. Cool. I hope you're having as much fun as I did so long ago. :) Before it got to be too much work, that is. ;)
Well, I guess I'll go explore the forum and see what y'all have been up to for the last couple years....
Oh, BTW, I joined the Vue 4-With-No-Open GL-Club recently: Got a new vid card, an NVidia GeForce FX 5700 with 256 MB RAM, and, of course, I can't use the Open GL in Vue 4 (4.06, to be precise). Anything new on that, or did E-on finally give up trying to get Nvidia cards to work with their...uhhh.... questionable interpretation of Open GL?
( It worked just fine with my old VooDoo III card...)

Hi Mike Welcome back :) I hope you wo't find the place too changed. Vue 4 works much better with openGL and Nvidia cards if you get one of the latest versions (v4.5 and above). Vue Pro works as Vue 4 should have been wroking from the beginning. I found no problem with OpenGL and my Nvidia cards on that one. With Vue 5 in beta stage, you won't have a long time to wait and see if openGL support has improved.

Hi Mike, glad to see you back! I am also using a NVidia card, and truthfully, OpenGL isn't the best, even with 4.22. (I don't think there is a 4.5 for Vue D'Esprit. There is for Vue Pro.) It does work, but not the best implementation. I am eagerly waiting version 5, and hoping that OpenGL works as it should. Since it seems to be fixed with Vue Pro, I would expect so.

Oh My God.....Mike hi how the h are you? So nice to see your face. Missed you so much around here. Mike is the one that got me started on Vue....he was so much help. Glad to see you again. Sharen

Hi Sharen. :) Doin' great; how about you? Thanks again for the CD you sent me over a year ago with all those models of your's and Mike's on it, that's some really great stuff! I just built myself a new PC...yeah, literally, I built it myself, starting with the chassis and motherboard, which is a big deal to me, at least, because I had no idea what I was doing going into it, but it works great... it had better work great-- I put alot of money into designing exactly what I wanted. I wasn't sure if all my apps would play nice with XP Pro, so I set it up as a dual boot with Win 98 SE, but XP runs everything much better, it seems. Anyhow, I'll be around more often now, and maybe I'll see if I can find the time to do something for the current challenge. Agiel and Jcleaver, thanks for the "idea" about the update. Strange, but it hadn't even occurred to me. The last update I got was 4.12, and I can't remember what the problem was, but I had put a text file into the folder on the CD I burned it to saying "Don't Use 4.12!" shrug But, I'm downloading 4.22 right now, and I'll give it a shot and see what happens. I just finished installing all my apps on my new drive, so there's nothing saved...no scenes or pics or anything yet, so if I have to wipe a Vue 4 installation and reinstall, no big deal. From what I remember, the "back" thingie after updating Vue 4 didn't always work right. Anyway, see y'all soon!

Well, hello again everyone. It's good to see so many familiar faces around here; even though it's been a couple years since I posted here regularly, it seems like I never left. :) Anyway, I've been running Vue with the 4.22 update for a couple days now and aside from the apparent camera location problem I mentioned in a different thread, Vue seems to be doing well. Aside from, of course, that I can't use Open GL unless I want to constantly just remember where my camera actually is... Still at least, the Open GL actually looks like something instead of a bunch of screen-wide digital confusion...
