That looks pretty dang cool as it is now. I think it might be possible to get away with doing some details in postwork to save your CPU from meltdown during render. Anyhow keep at it, you're getting there.

I would suggest that you add the meteors in post. They don't look very convincing right now (the smoke is for example way to dense - looks more like sperms falling down from the sky) and aren't worth the render time. You maybe should do something about the sky aswell before your final render. It looks too much as a Bryce preset (that also goes for the texture used on the city). Sorry for the harsh words but using textures that you see on Bryce renders everywhere kills the feeling.

I personally think that th emetors look GREAT personally. I thought you did them in something other than bryce! Nice volumetric work

Dang! You forgot the motion-blurr on her head as she spins it around to look at the exploding escape-pod......;-)

"When this is over I'm doing a quick poser import / reflective sphere pic just to relax." Hah, I just did one of those! Took just under 3 hrs to render in C4D. (ok so I got caried away and got into radiosity and sub-surface scattering) Morale of the anecdote- when inspiration strikes nothing, NOTHING is ever simple! (grin)
