Well its been a while since I asked Has anyone made an auto loader for morph targets yet? I am faced again with a project that involves loading several hundred obj format morphs onto a model. What I'd like such a thing to do: Open figure. Point to folder containing morphs to load. Click ok. Have it load all the morphs and give me a list of the error problems. and yes .. I'd pay for such an application. Lyrra

My Loader script does this and much more. It was being sold through Synergy 3D, but I'm not sure if that site even exists any more, and it only sold 3 copies about a year ago. I'm halfway inclined to make it free.

ockham more? dare I ask? And I'm presuming bcasue you say 'script' that its python based. Does it work with p5? And now that you've teased me .. where can I get it? Steve well its not like I want to load all those p4fem morphs from Trav by hand you know? wink Lyrra

Yes, it's Python. And it does work with P5. Okay, hell with it. Anything that earns a grand total of $32 in one year is not suddenly going to start bringing in billions. I'll make it free and put it on my website. Will notify here when it's loaded.

got it :) thanks Ockham! question (not had a chance to read the readme yet) does this allow for loading a lot of OBJ's at once in general or just as morph targets? (he says as he slinks back to loading this model set up bit by bit)
ockham posted Tue, 31 August 2004 at 9:43 PM
You can load lots of OBJs. However! I didn't allow for setting the figure size choice (and those other choices like centered, on floor, etc) for an OBJ import. The models will all come in at original size. This may be OK for some situations, but it's not ideal. Try it first before you use it for serious purposes.
Khai posted Tue, 31 August 2004 at 9:54 PM
thats exactly what I wanted :) (I scale in tS first / test / then UVmap.. then I have a load of UVmapped OBJ's to bring in.... ) thanks again! :)
ockham posted Tue, 31 August 2004 at 10:00 PM
OOps, what I said a minute ago wasn't quite right.
Loader uses the last settings of that OBJ dialog
box.
So if you want everything to come in at
(say) 10% of figure size, bring in one OBJ first,
set the dialog for 10%, then run Loader on the big
quantity of OBJs. (I thought it was just using original size because I always happen to leave the dialog set for original size.)

Ockham, I bought it from Lady Cherry's forum/store and it was the best thing and most time saving I ever bought! I use it all the time! I use loads of custom morphs andthis makes it so easy :) ....And don't forget the auto conformer that is included, that saves ages when loading up loads of clothes in complex scenes. Alla

well I loaded it and pushed the button and it said this ..so how do I fix it? where do I get the thing it said it wanted? WHOOPS! I can't find a Tcl/Tk 8.0 installation anywhere. Please make sure that Tcl.Tk 8.0 is installed and that the PATH environment variable is set to include the Tcl/bin directory (or wherever TK80.DLL and TCL80.DLL are installed). If you don't know how to fix this, consider searching the Python FAQ for the error you get; post to the comp.lang.python if all else fails. Read the source file FixTk.py for details. I get that error with python too, sometimes but it works okay at other times?
ockham posted Wed, 01 September 2004 at 9:24 PM
Those errors most often come from an earlier release of ProPack. First check to see if your Poser version is 4.2.1.179 If it's earlier, you'll need to install the latest SR for ProPack. If you do have the latest, we'll have to discuss further!......
Lyrra posted Wed, 01 September 2004 at 9:58 PM
ah .. the patch thing might be it. I only upgraded recently to propack. should have thought of that ... doh :)
