Personally, I'd say lighting. I'd even go as far as to say get the main light source coming through the window and hitting the wall and lessen the lights on each candle. But you got rid of the default ambience which is always a good thing in my book.

I agree. Perhaps even a light gel map on the candle lights. but definitely lower them, by a lot.

This is a common mistake in door construction. It is not enough simply to make a door and apply a wood texture. The Texture has to follow standard real-life construction or it just looks bad. Think about how a carpenter actually makes a door.

I've just thrown this together but I'm sure you'll get the idea.

#1 Yeah, Bryster hit the nail on the head. Also, your door is a bit too wide & the handle looks like an interior door handle. No lock, latch, or knob. Check the link out, masterst has a lock set on his 3rd page.

#2 What is that light coming from at the top of the pic?(small triangle)

#3 Finally, I would eliminate the lighting that is illuminating the front of the couch. (Draws from the main focus). There is a composition rule on a web site somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.(brb)

Looks good so far.

Some great links here, but it's a bit weird to follow. http://www.jimloy.com/geometry/goldenz.htm
