Quick study in booleans, ended up with 972 peg holes. 81 possible shelf positions. If anyone's interested, I'll make it a bit more user friendly and post it in the freestuff.

LOL... Obsessive? Maybe, but there's always multireplicate. Most of the shelving units I've seen don't have that many holes since they tend to space them further apart.
