Isn't there another way to make the second half-arch? Get the first made, and then use the grouping tool to make a copy, rotate and translate the copy, and weld. Or does that lead to problems with the origin?

geep posted Sat, 04 September 2004 at 6:05 AM

Hi Antonia, Ah, now *that* is a very good question and the answer is ... Um, now where did I put that answer ... (*shuffles numerous piles of papers around on his virtual & pepetually messy and cluttered desk*) Well, er, let's see ... in order to make what would essentially be a mirror image of something we would need an exact center line upon which we could "split" the object. If you will look closely at Page 12, on the left hand side where it says, "DO NOT INCLUDE THIS PIECE!," there is (are) no vertex(es) that are in the (exact) center. Therefore, we cannot "mirror" the object and still maintain a smooth arc. So, the problem lies not with the origin, per se, but with the alignment of the two halves. Ok? cheers, dr geep ;=] P.S. You cannot "weld" vertices inside of Poser. You can only "weld" identical (location) vertices when you import an object.
