I'm sure I've seen this guy before. Isn't he one of the Sadakar Terror Troops from 'DUNE' ? Great work BTW....even though it is in Wings!

the Sardaukar? Doesn't seem at ALL like I've picture them from the books...that's why book movies ruin things for me, it ruins the great little pictures i've got in me head.

really excellent job :)

Slakker: In the game Dune2000 the intro shows Sarduakar troops firing 'yard-blowers'. Their visors are square and are green inside. OK so maybe Woodhurst's figure doesn't quite match up but that's the first thing I saw when opening this thread. Come-on Woodhurst, where d'ya get the idea from? I KNOW I've seen this kind of thing before...........

I've read about half of Dune, and never seen the movies (or cared to based on what I've heard), so im not quite sure what you're talking about, but now im interested:) basically, I always doodle figures that look like this - bulky armor, huge impractical gun, lotsa handles and wires, an always a single "light" eye - and this was my 3d doodle of it. thanks for the comments everyone!

Now you've got me thinking! I read all of E.E. 'Doc' Smith's books - the Lensmen series - in one the Lensmen build an amoured suit like you have - only it doesn't have a visor 'cos Lensmen use the powers of the Lens - so that they can go up against machine guns without getting killed. This is the sort of thing I imagined them having.

Cool looking character Woodhurst!
@TheBryster- I read all of "Doc" Smith's books too! I loved 'em as a kid.

Danamo: What a shame they seem a bit 'young' now. I still like that stories though. Someone told me they'd made a movie/animation featuring the Lensmen but I've never seen it. I bought one of the 'Lensmen' books in a 2nd hand book store. I got half-way through it and went back to the store to pick up the entire series...! LOL Loved eveyone of them. Woodhurst: The first 'DUNE' movie featured STING as a bad guy and Kyle MacKlakin (spelling sucks)as Paul Atradies and was pretty good for all that. But then they made a 6 hour! version which is simply excellent! A must see for all sci-fi fans.
