Isn't that limiting the challenge to certain programs, like UF?

Hi--I am new to fractals & just got apophysis (cause it's free) & there is a script I just found today that does kaleidoscopes direclty in apophysis. Works like a charm! I got it here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/9810447/ Don't know if that helps or not... :) Donna

Not totally. I don't use scripts. I make all my images by triangle manipulations because scripts take the user out of the equation too much. That also doesn't help the Fractal Explorer users.

Bummer--sorry I wasn't more help...as I said, I'm just a noob! :) Just checked out your gallery--wow, your fractals really rock! I haven't done much with triangle manipulations yet (obviously), but it obviously does the trick for you...gotta learn more about that. Well, hopefully everyone who can participate in the challenge does! Good luck to all...

From what I read in the rules, it states that any amount of postwork is allowed as long as the fractal image is the main component. I was going to save the fractal image and manipulate it in PSP which has a pretty good kaliedoscope plugin. But I just might go hunt down the apophysis script for kaleidoscopes and give it a try. :o) Good luck everyone!

Aeires, we can use the forced symmetry option in the "Random" section of Options, then play with the resulting triangles/image. it could get really interesting. I have no clue how to make one in FE, but I am sure there is a way, so I'm going to try a few things. I probably won't post anything, but I love a good challenge anyway! Miriah

In reply to malia01us I just wanted to say thank you very much for the link to that kaleidoscope script, I downloaded it yesterday and I'm really pleased with it so I'm going to attempt an entry just using Apophysis and that script. Thanks once again Donna, I really appreciated it. :0) regards Helen

Thanks for replying Nick however my question related more to the file name or save as (not the extention) to use for specific challengers. Sorry I was not very clear in my earlier post, slaphand.exe :) ie september_ myname.jpg Kaleidoscope_myname.jpg
