not an expert, but I got pretty much the same deal off of a magazine. I was able to create models and export them to Bryce (3ds, I think, possibly .obj), so you might be able to create models and import them into Poser.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

C 1.1 works reasonably well for making models for Poser. It's the program I started with. It imports .obj files directly and can even work with Poser's tiny natrual scaling (when importing remember to turn off auto scaling, see the Carrara list for such tips). Natuatlly it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that the newer versions do but it's a reasonable starter program, to me, at least, the vertex room is a natural for working on Poser objects. Good Luck mike

and what abotu importing/rendering poser things witih this old version of Carrara ?

As I remember C 1.1 can import anything in .obj format (as well as several other) but I don't think there was a Poser native format importer for C 1.1. I would recomment checking thru the archive files in the Cararra forum and in their tutorials section for more info. It's been a while since I've used it and I don't remember all of the details. mike

Importing and rendering poser figures? Import as obj file from a folder containing all the textures, and scale up to 2000% to avoid problems with transparent surfaces.

Attached Link: Carrara morph creation tutorial

It works well for creating morph targets (which seems to be a problem for a lot of apps). Check out the linked tut for all the how-to info.
