Hi, I don't know where to post this. Poser forum doesn't like Shade threads, there's no shade forum, and this isn't a promo. Anyway. I was thinking of getting Shade minimumly for it's poserfusion function. I have not heard anything about it's modelling, ie, ease of use, toolset etc. I tried to establish the differences between the 3 packages and the descriptions from Curious Labs seem to be the same. So does anyone know wht the real differences betwwen the three packages are? Thanks, Adele

Here is a short list of some differences: Plugin support: LE-None Standard and Pro-Yes Python: LE-No Standard and Pro-Yes Network rendering: LE and Standard-No Pro-Yes Standard has more modeling tools than LE, and Pro has more than Standard. Also, Pro has an additional renderer, Calisto. Don't know anything about it though. These are just a small portion of the differences. I bought the LE version as I didn't think I would need the extra modeling tools; but I might regret not getting the standard just for the plugin support and Python. I may upgrade in the future if people come up with some good plugins/scripts.

I suspect that we'll see some interesting python scripts. It may take a few months (folks have to learn it, figure out what it can do, figure out what it needs to do... and then write something elegant and useful). I don't use the python scripts for ProPack that often, but when I do they are vital... such as deleting lights... and I can't imagine going back to Poser without them. Just like in Poser, we'll probably get the necessary time-savers first, and then the neat playful ones.

Go to http://www.curiouslabs.com, click on Products, shade, and at the bottom of the screen is a .pdf file to compare.
