I was wandering in Beijing and Xi'An with this 2 kind of sensations, trying to undestand how this culture can produce the opposite of human being at the same time.
Well I haven't figured out, but I've returned home more tired and more happy (and wit ha bag full of presents) so I can say It was a fabulous holyday!! ... and now some pics for you (total count is 460, but I don't wont to bore you).

They eat scorpions? Did you? What do they taste like? And what are those things in the tray to the upper left? Roach-kabobs? (Well they DO look like jumbo cockroaches, don'tcha know!) Oh, and beautiful shots! I'm with Zhann on this one: more, more, MORE!
vasquez posted Tue, 07 September 2004 at 3:14 AM
Yes they eat scorpions, I didn't (they were still moving... but I saw people doing it, on the upper left right there are some unkown bugs...
Erlik posted Tue, 07 September 2004 at 5:41 AM
I think that the unknown bugs are either cicadas or hissing cockroaches. :-) Welcome back.

Yum... I prescribe to the view that my revulsion to thoughts of something as food is in inverse proportion to my nearness to starvation. (In other words, if I'm starving, I could eat almost anything to survive, especially if I know that a culture already commonly uses it as a food source.)
