Make the face more rounded, ... and the eyes more squinty or loopy, and the mouth more twisty . heh heh :)

I'd say it's pretty close, but his eyes aren't shifty enough. Also, this guy looks a lot smarter.

Maybe the simian dial needs a few notches? [heh :)]

looks pretty good to me! I always say he has beady little mouse eyes, maybe make his eyes are a little rounder. When I look at GW, it always looks like his eyes and nose are in a little group all by themselves on his face! lol hence the beady looking mouse eyes! I think you did a darn good job on this!

Please keep comments to the merits of the mesh and or texture... for politicians of both parties. Saying a mesh doesn't look stupid enough doesn't help make it a closer match to the face in question. Saying that the forehead and chin need to be shorter and the face rounder or other such constructive criticism will help the artist better approach his goal. With the morphs I was making for Don, I started with the overall head shape until it matched the image I had in mind, and then worked down to ever smaller details, ending with nostrils and eyelids. If you start with the mouth, when you do the chin and jaw, it will deform, and then when you do the head shape, deform again. Better to work inward. Also, the nose and ears are a lot more important than you might think when it comes to that recognition factor. Carolly Renderosity Moderator

My main problem with it is the severe sunburned look he has compared to the skin on the sides of his face. Can you tone down the red in whatever skin your applying?

Shorten the face, maybe?

I think he (i.e. the image in the posting) looks more like Regis Philbin.

sandoppe, Your caricatures are marvellous. Any hints on how you did them ? It seems that to get a realistic likeness of a particular person, you need to start off with a caricature, and then wind the dials back slightly. P.S. Does Dubya really have that much hair ?
sandoppe posted Wed, 08 September 2004 at 1:20 AM
Thanks mathman :) A great deal of the credit for these goes to Boris by Capaces and Michael 2. So for starters you need both of those. I created two .fc2 files which I had hoped to get uploaded somewhere by now as a freebie for anyone who wanted them. But I would really like to do a Cheney and Edwards too. Not sure if twisting back on the dials will achieve the realistic look since this is Boris here....a bit of a caricature to begin with. Personally, I prefer the caricature when dealing with any human likeness, simply because it's more fun :) As for the hair.....no....Bush doesn't have that much hair, especially on top. His hair is a bit on the curly side though. This was the best short hair I had at the time. It's the UD Hair from DAZ. Kerry is sporting Hmann's rebel hair. The elephant is by Dark Whisper and the Donkey is PhilC's :)

Yes I have both Boris and M2 (not to mention Roxanne and V2). By coincidence, I was just playing with Boris last night and was amazed at the range of morphs you can achieve with him. The freebies would be great, thanks :)) So did you have a photo image of Dubya's face side-by-side with your Poser session and you twiddled away on the dials ?? ... is that how you did it (...and do you think its the best way) ? I have to try this out for myself !! ... maybe we could spawn a whole new industry of digital political cartooning :)
sandoppe posted Wed, 08 September 2004 at 11:21 AM
Yes....I did have a rather "doofy" looking, but real image of him at hand when I did this :) For me it's the "only way". I do avoid other caricatures, however. I refer to real pictures only. As to the later comment....you never know! :)
xantor posted Thu, 09 September 2004 at 8:26 AM
The eyes on the sandoppe one are much better than the jfv picture, the whole head is more like the real bush (apart from the caricatureness).
jfv posted Thu, 09 September 2004 at 11:02 AM
Yes, I have problemms with the eyes morph... I'm workig on that ! Thanks
