Going completely against history and my nature, I've actually started preparing way early for Halloween this year. :) Big reason is that I'll be shooting 3 events during the Halloween weekend (two Middle Earth inspired balls and the traditional Trolloween). Anyway, getting ready early gives me an opportunity to use a lens I have never been able to get before (it is always booked up solid). This Trolloween, I'll get the chance to use the infamous Canon 85mm F/1.2L lens. drool This should be fun ... also supplementing by bringing along the 24-70mm F/2.8L and my normal lens, 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS if I need to get a little more reach. -=>Donald

what kind of zoom is a 85mm?

Johanna - 85mm is a prime lens (meaning it has a fixed focal length). Because of my camera's cropping factor, this lens will have the field of view of a 136mm F/1.2 lens. Right in the sweet spot for what I like to use for portraiture.

Ooh! Nice! Thanks for the info! I use a 70-300mm zoom lens. But it has to be a bright sunny day out... I haven't figured out how to use it in-doors.
