I bought This product below. Then I was "ask" to submit my comments. I gave an honest responce saying I thought the P5 Dem tape was hard to follow and assumed the person watching had a lot of knowledge. That you would get lost because they do not present the material in a good manor, and would have to start over from the beginning to be on the same page as the lesson your working on.
No profanity, no personal attack, just an honest answer to the question ask.
I got this letter as a result:
Hello GoN2GraceLand,

I found this particular video to be informative and well produced. I am very happy to endorse it. Now in saying that I accept that it is not possible to please all the people all of the time. We each come from a different starting point. We view with different perspective. There are times when I have had to re-read material several times before I understand. I'm sure that the same material has been read by others and understood immediatly.
Writing reviews can be difficult. Criticisms whether constructive or not are still criticism. Is it possible that your text was misunderstood? There have been many times in my life when I've known that what I meant did not come over in what I wrote and was not interpreted correctly by the reader.
I agree that it is pointless to only allow reviews that shower praise. I note from your posting that the Renderosity staff invite you to resubmit a response. Maybe that is the best course of action. Should you do so please let me know so that I may read what you say.
Thanks,

Hi GoN2GraceLand, I, also, found this video to be very informative and impressed me as a professional production. I agree with PhilC in that, if you resubmit a response, please let me know because I am interested in hearing what you have to say. Thank you, and ... cheers, dr geep ;=]
Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"
cheers,

Hi GoN2GraceLand, I don't recall what the original review stated, but the merchant also felt your review was unwarranted. I think everyone agrees that constructive criticism is always welcomed of any product, but trying to present a complaint as politely as possible is always tough. You are more than welcome to resubmit your product review. I have never seen the video myself, so I cannot compare what you say to my own feelings. I do know that a lot of people have found it very informative and helpful though. Deb

I don't recall what the original review stated, but the merchant also felt your review was unwarranted. Heheh, sorry can't help but say that I doubt anyone who recieves a negative review will feel it's warrented. I thought the point of reviews was to enable buyers to make an informed choice. A negative review doesn't mean someone will not buy a product but it may mean that the buyer is made aware of possible problems. If a negative review of a product is made it should be left unless it violates the personal attack, techsupport or profanities rules given above. Otherwise the process is nothing more a back patting ritual.

agrees with Moonbiter and in addition, I wont buy a product from a merchant who will not take negative feedback along with the positive...as a buyer, I should be able to view ALL reviews to make an informed choice on whether to part with my hard earned money...if the criticism were an "attack" on the merchant, it would be apparent from the reviewers comments...which, by the way, would reflect negatively on the REVIEWER, not the seller...so unless there was profanity in the review, I dont agree with the fact that it was removed...
Say what you mean and mean what you say.

I have to agree, I want to know the good and the bad about a product so I can make an informed decision. I thought this had been dealt with and that the reviews didn't pass by anyone but went straight to the page. Did it get changed back? Marque

Like I said, I don't recall exactly what the review said, but it wasn't exactly worded as constructive critisism as far as I can remember. And yes Marque, the reviews do go straight to the page when they're made. Deb

I won't flame, but when shopping here I judge the product reviews by whether I recognize the name of the reviewers or not and whether I value their opinion/artistic skills. I suspect most people here do the same.
