I know there are tons of cloth room tutorials out there but I'm attempting to create one that even a total beginner can understand. It'll be in 3 parts. The first is posted as a series of articles on my Renderosity homepage if anyone is interested. I could use some input, especially if parts need to be Clarified or simplified, Levels 2 and 3 will be coming shortly... Cheers! -JD 8 )

If you could start on a tutorial centered on creating just one image of a figure with dynamic clothing. Lot of times I am not concerned about making a animation but want to set up for one picture. If you could explain how to set that up it would be a good beginning.

That's what I'm trying to do in the first stage, have a peek!

Good beginning! It reminded me that I needed to check off Inverse Kinematics. Forgot to do that yesterday and thaat is probably why things went wierd. Looking forward to more of this.

I was trying all last night to figure that darn room out lol. Most tuts are for the animation so I will definatly check yours out later tonight. Thank you :)

Yes! If you can state right at the beginning that you will be setting up for a single image that would be great. We can concetrate on getting all the settings right for that perfect image. I think I need to create a checklist on setting up for that myself.

This room has been driving me nuts as well! Rather than anything as complicated as a dressed figure, all I've been trying to do is get the cloth plane to drape over a sofa prop like a sheet or throw. When I get home tonight after work, I'm going to try your steps on that...if you think they'll work! Once I get that set-up, is there any way I can then save the sheet in its draped state? If you haven't guessed, I'm not up to doing any animations yet. Just still renders. And thanks! So far this is the clearest, most straight-forward tutorial on the cloth room I've seen yet. A few more "whys" behind the settings you use would be nice, but if it works, then that's all that matters right now!

I agree with Spire. A few more whys explained would be nice. And in his case maybe you would set up a tutorial on doing a cloth prop drape by itself and no figure. I did not really mean to give you a lot of work. But apparently you stuck a nerve with some of us. :)
