Well, I'm really sorry that i've been rather inactive as of late... It's school for the most part.. Therefore I'm actually not apologetic; more or less just explaining why I haven't been posting. This was just a little test I did with some stained glass volumetrics / gels with some quick glass models. nothing much, but I figured I'd post it anyway, since I haven't done anything lately.. And haven't really played with volumetrics all that much.

Nicely done. No apology needed anyway....just grab another Duelly Candle and ramble on. Good to hear from you.

Aside from the grain, I think it's a great shot! And the graininess wouldn't even be a question if we KNEW it was a photo, but I know that after a few days of playing with volumetrics you'll have it down, perfectly.

This is really good! What was the render time?

Ornlu posted Tue, 05 October 2004 at 7:06 AM

All I know is that the render time was less than 3 hours. The grain was actually added afterwards. Here's another version. Just mainly needed a new background on my computer.

shadowdragonlord posted Tue, 05 October 2004 at 7:34 AM

Aye, I should have known you of all people would do the grain in postwork! I think they're both awesome, but am partial to the second one... Amazing.
