i've already posted this in the mac forum too. eg install folders into your main runtime. This way subfolders don't get overwritten but the contents get added unless a file in the subfolder has same name - then the file (not the folder) will be replaced. this is what someone told me. Merging the contents of folders including subfolders on a Mac can be accomplished using the 'ditto' tool from the command line. First, launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app. For the next few steps, do not press until the end. At the prompt, type "ditto --rsrc " without the quotes. Note that there is an extra space after the rsrc. Next, drag your source folder into the Terminal window. Then, drag the destination folder into the Terminal window. The command in the Terminal window should look something like this: ditto --rsrc /path/to/sourcefolder /path/to/destinationfolder Finally, execute the command by hitting or . You may want to try this out on some test directories first until you get a feel for where the files are being placed, and of course you can manually type in the paths without dragging folders. Just be careful about where the spaces are, and note that everything is case-sensitive. The documentation for 'ditto' can be viewed by typing man ditto at the prompt. As the 'man' page describes, the '--rsrc' is needed to preserve the resource forks that are needed by some Mac files. There is also something in there about expanding source archives into destination directories, but I've never used that function so I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.
