The long-awaited update to Shoestring shaders is live- come to http://www.des-web.net/html/shoestring_shaders.html and check it out! The package is now Desaturate, Iridescence, Supermixer, Weave, Fresnel, Location, Proximity, Lit and Angle. The last four listed are great for animations- take a look at some of the sample files! http://www.des-web.net/html/samples.html Note that Fresnel can be used to do real dispersion! And by combining Lit and Angle, you can fake translucence!! CS3 PC version is available now for $24.00 US. Free upgrade for all previously licensed users! Mac versions will be along shortly. Markd

As a previous user, many thanks for making this enhancement a free upgrade! Way to go!! This is a handy package at a good price.

Can we get some nice images of examples of these. I'd like to see the translucency.

I aim to please! Besides, I want to try and get people to buy in early. .. I'll try and do some more images next week (assuming you have already looked at the samples) - I'm out of town this weekend. I have to warn you that I'm more of a tool maker than an artist. . . ;-) Markd

Looks great. I would like to buy but am reluctant as C4 is on order and I am afraid they will no longer work when I install C4. Any thoughts on when these will be available for C4?

The SDK is traditionally released just after the program is. . . it will take me a little while to get it ported, maybe a week or two after all the pieces are available? Usually it is just a quick re-compile, sometimes there are a couple of issues to work through. As far as I know, there aren't any major changes to the shader area, so it should be pretty quick. And a couple of new samples- one for fresnel, and one showing another translucency application. http://www.des-web.net/html/samples.html Markd
