I hadn't touched Vicy3 face at all because of her too many polygons. Also My PC has too less power to control cloth wearing Vicky3 with many many MTs. DAZ new Victoria 3 Reduced Resolution was released recently. V3RR is easy to make face and to set scene up. If you need RR's fc2 files are effective for Vicky3. How about V3RR ?

I debated getting the reduced resolution figures but now if you create a character for her I will DEFINITELY get them!!!!

I've got both M3 RR and V3 RR and I'm still wondering why they claim one should only use them as background figures. they both look excellent in close up renders too. They're very easy to use indeed, you don't need all of these injections and so on. So different characters are created with ease (as you can see in the image). Also so they're much cheaper to use, since you don't need to buy all of these morping packs. I just love the M3 RR and V3 RR.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

I have to say I am impressed, they look good if not better than some of the characters in 3d games(2.5D)

I like the bitchin' robot in the background! They need him in Faluja.

Me too! Spill the beans, where'd you get that droid?

I like both V3RR and M3RR. Very handy for heavy scenes.

I love them. I have my fingers crossed that DAZ decides to do a Steph Petite RR and David RR, too.

aeilkema posted Sat, 16 October 2004 at 2:53 AM

Yep, I'm wating for Steph Petit RR and David RR too, hopefully they will release the new mil kids in RR version too. I've heard a lot of people being much more excited about the RR figures, then they ever have been about the 'real deal'.

"I've got both M3 RR and V3 RR and I'm still wondering why they claim one should only use them as background figures." They assume that we're using badly limited software like Poser 4 or DAZ Studio, that's why. In P5 high-res meshes are just a waste of resources (unless it's dynamic cloth) because of micropolygon smoothing and displacement mapping.

aeilkema posted Sat, 16 October 2004 at 10:26 AM

I see, I agree. If it comes to software they're so old fashioned. They still think Bryce 5 is 'it' and can compete with Vue, assume hardly anyone uses Poser 5 and create an application that must compete with Poser 4. I really love DAZ content, but when it comes to their market knowledge software related, I really have my doubts about there expertise.

Thank you for replies. I love RR series even though they have some problem. I'ii inform DAZ about your opinions. As for droid. T-800 mesh(3ds) from TOBOR http://www.btinternet.com/~tobor/ You can find many excellent models. But they are not Poser figures, You must remake them. I reconstructed meshes and devided parts on modeller and characterized on Poser. Battledroid by Funryu. I downloaded at Freestuff but I can't find the link now.

Byrdie posted Sun, 17 October 2004 at 12:27 PM

Thanks for the info. Think I saw the battledroid on Sci Fi 3d.com. I have one I got from there that's very like it and the name's familiar. Alas, I am not good with modelling, so I guess I'll just have to wait till the artist releases a Poser-ready version of his model or gives someone else permission to do so. ::sigh::

Yamato: very nice work, you should ask TOBOR to host your Poser-ready Terminator, or allow you to host it on your site. Great RR renders.
