I'm creating a series of fantasy props and character packs to hopefully sell this christmas. Most of my ideas are based on the dungeons and dragons dragonlance world, with a few ideas of my own. This is the crystal staff of aquius, basically a staff of water control. It will be a part of an Aqua Mage kit that I am currently working on. What I would like to know, is if something like this would be of intrest to people, and if I should make some changes or improvments. I would appreciate any and all comments.

Looks good to me. I really envy people that can make props and stuff. I have tried a few times and like in shop class everything is an ashtry. You know, cut a couple of grooves into in and it's an ashtry. I though it was suppose to be a birdhouse, nope it's got two grooves, its an ashtray. (Apolgies to Bill Cosby)

I like it. Question though: is it suppose to be all glass? Another question: is that a red reflection, or a gem of some kind embedded in the bulb part? If its suppose to be all glass, maybe try laying it on a different surface. If you're doing an aqua mage kit, are you going to be doing other element mage kits as well? fire, earth, air, etc. I'm sure there would be an interest and potential customer base, but keep in mind that the poser market is flooded with fantasy-type props, clothing, etc. So try your best to make your creations fresh and different than what is already available. With that you should do well. Props are really fun to make, and as long as they dont have any moving parts they're pretty simple 8-)

E.D. P.S: If that is a gem, red is usually associated with fire. Blue or green for water, green or brown for earth, blue or clear for air/wind.

The red is a refraction effect. It is a lumanent sphere set within a transparent globe. It's designed so that no matter where the camera angle is, it appears a red smoke within the globe. I do plan to make a set for each element, but that won't be for a while yet. The reason that I chose red is based on the circle of power-'Fire beats water beats earth beats fire...', as a subtle point of irony,(fire encased in water)' but I think I'll make mats for each element.

Can't really tell from your picture, but it looks like the staff has a very small handle. It just looks a little too small for Vickie's/Mike's hands. Looks more like wand. And the staff looks a little too ...ummm..."techno" for me, needs to be more organic looking. The orb on top has a good organic feel to it.
