Now i'm not sure if there was a post on this before but i thought i would ask it anyway just incase there wasn't I'm using Corel Bryce 5 and so is my girlfriend, we were lucky enough to have it given to us by a friend who bought it but never got to use it for reason that don't need to be mentioned on here. Now my question is, what is the difference if any between the DAZ version of bryce and the corel one. Reason i'm asking is my girlfriend is talking about buying the DAZ Bryce so that she can have her own copy(women shhh) I have tried to explain they are the same, we have already got one copy of it why have two but being a female well you guys know what i mean.

Btw, per Corel's license agreement; B. YOU MAY: 1. install and use one copy of the Product on a single computer. You may also make and use a second copy of the Product on a home or portable computer provided that copy is never loaded in the RAM of the home or portable computer at the same time it is loaded in the RAM of the primary computer. Why to buy another copy of the same old program ? While you can use it together :-) DAZ did nothing to update old Bryce 5, so if you buy now another copy of Bryce it will be a waste of money. You should rather try new excellent features of Vue d'Esprit 5 just a few examples: Global Illumination / Radiosity / HDRI Metablobs (like meatballs but work on all geometric figures) New fractal materials & graphic function editor New photorealistic plants 3D text editor (that can do much more than simple 3D text) Support for direct download of animated Poser characters (with Mover plug in) Preanimated characters etc... monia, reason i use Bryce is cause its easy to use in some aspects, i don't need to go out and buy a new operating system to use it, it is cheaper than buying vue. So with all that said i'm now going to log into the DAZ site and buy my girlfriend her own copy of bryce cause i can't get it from anywhere else.

Btw, I'm just wondering out loud, but from that #3 post, doesn't anyone think that would apply to 2 computers that WERE networked together? I mean, it would be kinda strange to have legal permission to install it on 2 of your computers, but then to make sure 2 Bryces were NOT running at the same time on 2 NON-networked PC's..... I wonder what DAZ license states. Like I said, I'm just wondering aloud, I really don't know. AS

I thought the whole thing about Bryce Lightning was so you could render on two comps? Not that I managed to get it to work, but that's my lameness. Lunartick - no difference at all. I had Corel Bryce on my old pc, gave that to my daughter, and bought Daz Bryce. Exactly the same. Your gf is right - it's always nice to have your own copy of a program, rather than having to use someone else's:^) my 2 cents

AS $60.00, where you buying it from the blackmarket. It is $80.00USD or $107.00AUD, 3d starter bundle which is Bryce and someother things is $99.00USD coverted over is $134.00AUD. My girlfriend is talking of getting the 3d start bundle now. Her and money just don't go together well, especially my money :)

At least it is possible to run two copies of Bryce at the same time, unlike Poser which looks at each computer on your network to see that a duplicate Poser serial number is not in use. :(

Now the new daz price that releases soon is suppolsed to render 2x as fast, or so says daz3d website... Maybe your girl should wait for that, then she could have your copy and you can render happy and fast. I hate my nickname, I need to change it...

Oh for God's sake! Whatever happened to common sense? So a guy and his girlfirend want to use Bryce so they can hold hands and render together in the peaceful harmony of their own home. So what? Are they a Company? Are they about to blitz the market with products made by Bryce and stand to make a fortune? Are they about to win every competition on the net with their wonderful Bryce renders? It's like tv licenses over here in the uk. You were supposed to get a tv license for EVERY tv you had in the house. At 125 a shot most peps tell the license people to get stuffed and just buy one. I don't think anyone is going to court here about LunarTick and the love of his life. Nor do I believe the Bryce Police are coming to bang on his door. Some of you guys have RenderFarms. Did you buy seperate copies of Bryce? I doubt it! And where does Bryce Lightning come in? I'm not casting aspursions (ss) here, not do I mean anyone any disrespect, but get real, kiddies! This is about someone buying 1 copy and putting it on all his friends and family's computers and selling it at boot-sales all over the country. Yup, overhere in the Netherlands it was not much different, you had to pay to watch TV/Listen radio, although it was a flat-rate, 1 or 20 TV's and 30 radio's, it did not matter, every household paid the same amount. They got rid of it a few years ago, and just added a tiny amount to the taxes we have to pay. And overhere we could not end up in jail for not paying your license as you can in the UK. ^___^:

The licence pays for the BBC, so they can waste it on executive holidays and making mostly cack programs. Still least theres no "commercial breaks" every 30 seconds like in the US. You don't need a licence if your over 75, but by then you can't see or hear to good anyhow. Just ask the Bryster.

If I had my way, the BBC would work in the real world. Those bastards are the most arogant, self-opinionated bunch of egotists on the planet. Ang: we have plenty of time to go pee.....only about 10% of what the BBC produces is worth watching...and that's on a good day and you can tell 'em i said so! Orbital: The BBC DOES have commercial breaks....for it's own books, dvds, vids and prog etc. and the TV License Police - yes they exist - are worse than the Gestapo! They will force their way into your home and rip it apart to find the tv they think you have, just because you have not bought a tv license. They work on the principle that 'cos you live in a house/flat/hole in the ground....you must have a tv 'cos everyone has a tv. If your address hasn't got a tv license registered to it you must be breaking the law. And even if they don't find a tv their attitude is 'You must have hidden it well...'

Slakker: You would have to prove that the tv is not capable of recieving tv signals. ie, you don't have an aerial, but that doesn't necessarily hold water.......In the UK you can still pic up signals without an ariel in some areas...although the picture would be crap. They are also trying to make you have to buy a license if you don't have a tv but your PC has a TV card in it or if you can get tv down the internet.... My son is having a row with these bastards. He has no tv. The license peps said 'ok, we'll come round and check' My son said 'You better bring a cop and a warrant, cos you ain't getting in here without them.' And finally (with apologies to LunarTick for hi-jacking his thread) The Government wants to stop the analog signal we get tv on. We are going digital. But that means we have to BUY a box to receive digital signals. That's about 50. So what about us folks that can't afford the digi-box? Tough! You'll get no tv and still have to buy a license..........Sometimes living in the UK just sucks.

I remember you talking about this before, its just wrong, lol. With most cable companies here, you can purchase your own box and remote control, and some do, because the cable companies charge you like $2-$4 for both cable box and the remote each, each motnh. But, if something goes wrong with your box or remote its up to you to financially fix it. If you use the Cable companies box and remote, and something goes wrong, you just get a brand new one brought by. Here in Los Angeles, my cable tv and cable internet are $50 each, and we don't have any great pay/movie channels. But, we DO have BBCAmerica, and G4/TechTV, so that in itself makes me happy. it is AS, here it is 18. mind you they are trying to get it to 21 over here because of all the young foolish binge drinkers.

It's 18 here in Quebec, Canada and our beer runs from 4.25% to 9.5%. 19's the age in most of the other provinces. Oh, the TV is free too.

4.25% to 9.5%? Wow....that's nice. Most of ours is something like 3%, It's why I usually look for foreign beer, or a "red label" US beer, which is usually 5%.

Yeah, we have to pay a TV license fee too, of 150. Being right next door to the UK, our government picks up on the UK's brilliant ideas, and vice versa. These brilliant ideas are usually to do with grubbing money, but not always. One of our Ministers came up with the great idea of banning any footage of anyone from Sinn Fein, that was enthusiastically taken up by the UK, and eventually led to the ludicrous situation of a still image of people in the news, with an actor reading what he/she had said. And......the content provided by RTE is absolute crap. PLUS they run commercials. They're so bad that even without a level playing field the commercial stations can survive and make more from ads, because no-one (apart from ninety-year-olds) watches RTE. Crap from morning til night.

So tv is shite around the world then! Thankgod for Bryce. I here you guys in the US are getting bomabarded with election commercials at the moment..........that would really get on my tits!

I generally keep my set tuned to CNN, all the time, kinda like a white noise in the background. Although, being in the Shennandoh Valley prices are good and we have several commercial-free premium movie channels,.......so I can watch the same movie 97 times in 2 days if I want. If I'm home and awake,.....the TV is on.

hmmnnn.....I have 11 or 12 channels. Oddly enough, one of the best of them is an Irish-language one - there was such uproar when it was set up using taxpayers' money that they had to come up trumps, and they do fantastic programs - hard to describe, but very very interesting. When there's nothing else worth watching on, then I switch to it. Also, they run very good old movies, classics and little-known gems.

I believe Channel 5 has improved a lot (don't get it) but never hear the name without thinking of Adam Faith ('60's pop star-turned financial wiz). His final words as he channel-surfed, seconds before he keeled over with a heart-attack, were "Channel 5 really is shit, isn't it?" trying to think how many channels I have 4 British channels - BBC1, BBC2, UTV, Channel4 4 Irish ones - RTE1 & 2, TV3, TG4 Discovery, MTV, E4 Sky News, Sky1 Some kids' channel I never watch I don't subscribe to any sports or film channels
