btw, this is 3700x2700 pixels in all. it's for the CGTalk thingie :D now my problem is to make a planet. the tut is okay, but my problem is that i'm working with huge resolutions here and it's going to be a bastard to make. And that plugin from flamingpear isn't large enough at 100% lol any ideas on planetary photoshop tuts? Drac

Yeah, i remember doing that one Rochr found, but it wouldn't work because I was using The GIMP...which just isn't as good... But now i have bonified Photoshop, so maybe i'll try again.

it's actually pretty easy to make, the only hard part is finding a damn texture that's good enough =/

That really is a great tutorial. :) Ive tried wih all sorts of mats, and usually concrete surfaces give a good result.

I don't have much to add but here's my tip (own experience): When you're done with your first starfield/planet and you think it is the best you have done, throw it away and start on a new one from scratch. The 2nd will be much better!
