I would be curious to know why you would need to render that high. First off, you wouldn't actually be gaining enourmous detail. Second, you can re-rez images up higher in Photoshop. Logically, you could output at 4K in Poser, do the necessary posting in Photoshop- as the image WILL need it, and then rez it up. If you are attempting animation at this resolution, you are totally using the wrong software, as Poser is not (at $179 or whatever it sells for) a high-end professional Hollywood animation program.

i was sort of testing poser as to what it limit was in rendering i use lightwave for animation and 90% of my other 3D work but since ive just got this peice of software i thought i would love to play with it see what it's limits where and how much i could push it

If you are a Lightwave user, then naturally you would want to render in Lightwave. For high-end software like Lightwave and 3DStudio, Poser is really just a "utility" to assemble characters, clothes, etc. For newbies that only use Poser, they may never even try to render at 4K. As you may know, Curious Labs, publisher of Poser, is supposed to soon release a $149 Pro-Pack that is supposed to make exports to Lightwave and 3DStudio easier and cleaner... (we are all waiting for this to happen).
