I know this belongs in the Photoshop Forum, but since you guys were talking about I tried that great Planet tut at: http://www.skyetis.com/Tutorial/tut.html. By drawing a black shape in the shape of a continent; adding monochromatic gaussian blur you can quickly create an urbanized continental shoreline giving you planet scope and size.

Sorry did I say a monochromatic gaussian blur. I meant monochormatic gaussian noise.
