since my understanding is we are still abiding by Michelle's guidelines for photo gallery, I am uploading this tonight in my gallery for my friend Snakey! It is my photo...may not look like one...but it is. So since guidelines say to use my own judgment if image is heavily manipulated, i will place it in photo gallery. here are both so you can see. i used that colored foil thing...then neon glow. If i misunderstood and it is wrong for me to put in foto gallery, just let me know and I'll move it. Thanks guys!!!

What a sweet little Snakey! [I'd be more concerned about copyright issues with this one than about it being a photo.]

yep HC...Folsom Prison no good...they don't serve sardines there!!! :) In all seriousness, is there a resource here in the forum somewhere i can learn more about this copyright stuff? I checked out the The Resource Center and didn't see it. Did i overlook it? I'm just a bit confused about it. Is it okay to take a photo of someone's else's artwork without naming the artist? Maybe there was already a thread about this? maybe i just need to search? Thanks guys!!! sheila

Well copyright is a long winding issue. To use or not to use. In my personal opinion or should I say my limited understanding of the subject.......... anything created by anyone claimed to be mine... is a violation. Beyond that if I use someone elses work to create something of my own version without seeking permission of the original work...... i am a violator. Without giving due credit where due, in respect of free stuff and other share stuff........ it's a violation. To top it all....anything that is not so significant and goes unoticied or even if noticed..... ignored is okay I guess. (even though there is violation). Hence................................... my dear friend Sheila, had you not questioned about it..... it was okay and since you did......... it was violation.;)??? You get it?? :O)) SNAKEY

Raj are you trying to be funny? just read the link, after that, if you can tell yourself it's ok then read the article again :]

she asked, we answered

ignored is okay I guess
sometimes, it's easier then making a big deal out of it & have people dislike you, please, if you think you can do a better job, then by all means :] Message edited on: 10/31/2004 10:05

Dreamsosweets article is excellent and one that I've often pointed people to, when needed. Here is another exceptional website that deals more so with copyright as it pertains to collage artists, but can be very relevant in many cases. PS we also have a copyright forum here on Renderosity.

I am, therefore I create.......
