I am working on a new robot modell. Hip and Chest are not allowed to bend (bend 0) while only do abdomen remains flexible (bend 1) But now I have a little problem : When I bend the abdomen (any rotate will do) it is perfect. (Picture 1) But if I move the Chest part it looks like it has no effect on the abdomen at all (picture 2) How can it be ? (Hierachy looks fine) Additional question : Is there a parameter in the cr2 file like "welding strength" ? If I bend the body too much the edges of the body part move a bit out of position. I don't want this. thanks Holli

This splitting usually only happens if the figures parts are not set up properly. You should check that all the parts are seperate from each other. Each figure part has to have a seperate edge. I hope I explained that clearly enough. If you show a wireframe version of your figure with the chest selected it might help.

As your requested a wireframe image. But I don't think seperating is the problem because the bodyparts were never a single mesh in the first place.

Oopa. You can't get a good weld if the vertices don't line up exactly (and have the same order), as if they had been at one time welded. The best answer for this figure, though, might be to extend the abdomen up into the chest and allow some "slippage" to occur naturally.

The problem seems to be the part marked in red in the picture. Each body part has to be a whole seperate part for the welding and bending etc to work properly.

Hello you all, I build the character again from scratch out of the obj file. Everything is fine this time .... To nomuse: I already have the abdomen a bit "into" the chest and the hip. It works fine. Only if I bend it too much it gets a bit out of shape. thanks Holli

Cool. He looks cute -- lots of personality.
