Ok, some of you prolly seen my WIP on the forums, of 2 days back. I wanna add some religious writings to the walls. I tryed making some in wings, but all i get is those anoying little squares. Does any1 know if there is an easy way of creating text in bryce, or any other free program capable of doing so? i'd love 2 know. CZ

Zhann has a good tutorial at above link. It shouldn't be a problem in Wings, though. Can you post a pic of the 'annoying little squares'?Coltzero posted Sun, 31 October 2004 at 3:59 AM

that's probably not a truetype font? i don't know, did you try just Arial or whatever? those squares happen when the software doesn't understand the type (like if it's Chinese or whatever). Comic Sans is a pretty known font, Wings just might have problems with it. You could always make the text in Photoshop and then apply it to the wall mat. without hte need for making it 3d. Yup, it's extremely easy to do 3d text in Bryce, you only need a paint program that will do black and white, and it's far easier than modeling them, AnD you can export them from Bryce into other formats cause you're using terrains or sym lattices....thanks pogmahone for the link...:)

There's also a beautiful small app to create text to import in Bryce, called Elefont. I don't have the link right now (I'm not at home) but you can do a search. It's free and intuitive at the max. S.

The font in the image is wingdings, the program i used is called Elefont, it saves the file in .dxf which can be imported into bryce, it uses what ever fonts you have on your computer. Its free and the link is where you get it from.Message edited on: 10/31/2004 05:54

Let me recommend Tommy's of Escondido as a terrific resource of SCI-FI alien-type fonts. They have TrueType font designs from almost every major Sci-Fi movie and Series you've ever heard of, and some you may not have. These are carefully researched so as to to be "cannonical" or authentic, and the best part is they are free!pauljs75 posted Sun, 31 October 2004 at 4:36 PM
Try using the file search at the start menu and make sure that you have the exact filepath and filename for a given font. The directory might be a bit different depending on how the computer is set up. Also I couldn't really get any fonts to work with Wings on the Mac. (They're not the font type supported by Wings.) This is one of those things that needs to be fixed some time in the future.
