If a figure opens in poser why will it not save as a pz3 file? When I save it and open the figure is not there. What do I change in the Cr2 file. skee

Not sure what you mean, are you trying to save a character that you've created yourself for use later. I sometimes create a fully clothed character and then add it to the library until I've finished with it especially if I'm doing a sequential story. Is that what you mean or am I on a different tack here :-(

If you load a character into the document window, then do; File > Save, this will save the file as a pz3. This file should load the character ok ON YOUR MACHINE. It does not contain all the information necessary to to load the character on another machine. A pz3 does not contain the geometry (*.obj), or map files (such as textures, bumps, and trans maps), it only containes paths pointing to the location of these files on your HDD. If this is not working for you, then there may be a problem with your Poser instillation, and you could try reinstalling Poser. If you just want to save a character for your future use, save it to a Figures pallet, use the "+" at the bottom of the pallet to add add your character.

Thanks for the advice, but here is the problem... I have a figure in my character file in poser, I open the figure in poser scene. I then save the scene off as a pz3 file to use later. I close poser and reopen at another time and open the pz3 that I saved. The scene opens but the figure does not show in the scene. The figure will also not save as a figure using the "+" in the figure folder. What could be wrong with the cr2 file? All my other figures save just fine. skee

I've not heard of that before, as a matter of interest what is the figure that doesn't show?

The figure that I was working with is SuperGuy @ combat bunny.com . With the help of RoyG we were able to get the object file in the cr2 into the right folders. The figure will load in poser but will not save as pz3. I am just trying to learn about cr2 files and what would make this not load as a pz3. skee

combat bunny ============What a great name for a site! Looks like they have some interesting stuff too, even if the file dispositions are a bit wonky.
