It looks great!

Thank you all, guys!

I fix the wings (lot of work stretching, shrinking, rotating and welding vertex spheres to build before apply the 3D boolean on it). I think its looking decent now. Soon Ill make the textures.
Thanks again!

Awesome model! I can't wait to see it with texture. Keep up your nice work ;)

Very Nice modeling!

noviski posted Tue, 09 November 2004 at 12:11 PM

Thanks to claudiomil and PAGZone. The model is now texturized. The wings I found on a interesting [site](http://www.ups.edu/biology/museum/wingphotos.html) who provides a large number of bird wing reference photos. The fur is a simple color mixer using a noise blender. The eyes I found at listss site (thanks to him too!). And thats it! I think is finished! ;-)

Looks fantastic! I wouldn't want to run into THAT guy in a dark alley! ;) Is he/she/it boned and ready for animation? I would think those wings would a great place to try out the new IK features in C4.

noviski posted Tue, 09 November 2004 at 2:17 PM

Thanks, bluetone!

Hes boned, but Im not try to animate it yet. Maybe the model cant fly without crash on a tree or somenthing else. ;-)

claudiomil posted Tue, 09 November 2004 at 3:41 PM

Outstanding artwork!!! Looks owesome with texture, nice job! I'd like to see more from you soon :-)

bluetone posted Tue, 09 November 2004 at 7:29 PM

Have you seen the latest Harry Potter? Griffins can FLY! ;) Would you mind posting a wireframe of your model, maybe including the bones? I've just started scratching the surface of rigging a model and I'm very curious of how folks go about it. Thanx in advance! :D

noviski posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 7:31 AM

Thanks, claudiomil! bluetone, now I understand why the griffins have wings.... ;-) Heres the wireframe of the model.

noviski posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 7:45 AM

Well, I try to make this baby fly. Its a 616Kb flash movie: Click here . The tail looks out of synchronism with the rest of the movements, but its just a test. ;-)

bluetone posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 9:56 AM

yeah.. i see what you mean about the tail... I think it needs to be more like it's flowing in water... did you use IK with the rig? I would think you would need about twice the number of bones in the wings and then some trailing down towards the feathers to allow for a cupping effect to catch the air better. Just a thought. I like your 1st test and am looking forward to more as this progresses. :D

noviski posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 10:49 AM

Thanks for the tips, bluetone. :D
Im working on the claws movements too. I dont understand much about IK, still looking for a good tutorial (preference in portuguese, my english is awful...).

claudiomil posted Wed, 10 November 2004 at 2:45 PM

Hey novisk, maybe I can help you on that because I know Portuguese. Quais s as suas didas sobre IK? Se preferir pode usar o "messanging" aqui na Renderosity para conversarmos. Abra! Claudio

noviski posted Fri, 12 November 2004 at 7:13 AM

Valeu, claudiomil! :-D
Minha dida que tipo de IK eu devo usar para fazer um bede andar, por exemplo? Qual seria o primeiro bone do esqueleto? E o timo? Como vocpercebeu, n entendo "LHUFAS" de IK... :-(
Qualquer ajuda, ouro para mim!
Um Abra!
