------- Nov 4, 2004 Is there an alternative to 'Mimic' with regard to making Poser 5 figures talk? Ambassador -------

Yes.
textPuppet combines text-to-speech and lipsync technology. But unlike Mimic, it cannot analyze an existing audio file.

ack - was following this but on the buy page is this message unfortunately - "textPuppet is no longer available for retail sales, sorry."
But, I have to say Little Dragon, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to know what is out there on the web :) Its like you have a poser product dowsing rod or something hehe :)

------- Nov 5, 2004 Is it possible to buy a boxed copy of Mimic, rather than just an electronic download? If yes, please provide a link. Thank you. Ambassador -------

Well, Mimic is sold by DAZ...wouldn't your question be better answered there?
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

there is no boxed version for Mimic 3 http://secure.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1981 but you can get a CD Burn of it if you can't Download the Software for an additional $10.

It's not Mimic, and it doesn't do audio files, but here is a freebie online text-to-lipsynch generator. Type in the text you want to say, and a pose file will be created which you save and apply to your character.
