Can anyone please tell me where I can get/buy/beg/borrow/steal Zygote's Doe? Needed for GGs marvelous reindeer.

Have you checked Daz3d.com recently?

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

moushie posted Sat, 06 November 2004 at 5:03 PM

Well, thanks, that was fast. But I searched the Daz3D store for "doe" to no avail!

ynsaen posted Sat, 06 November 2004 at 5:34 PM

Zygote's doe is no longer available. Hasn't been for about a year and a half outside of a CD pack that also appears to have been discontinued.

It's on the Sampler CD, now only available as part of a limited-quantity bundle they're selling.

I wonder if enough demand for this figure was generated, DAZ would consider re-introducing it? I guess there's probably some contractural reason why they pulled it out of production.

I think they should put it in the PC (where the Buck is), or maybe sell the buck and doe as a set.

Thanks everyone. That explains it. Now is there anyone who can "lend" me a doe?

wheatpenny posted Sun, 07 November 2004 at 12:01 PM Site Admin

Anyone that has the Zygote doe can't, as that would violate the EULA, but there might be a free doe model available somewhere...

As far as free, I don't know. The only one I know of , now, is by Lynne. I don't know if you can use it but you might want to look it over. Sorry about the Daz fiasco, I didn't know it was discontinued.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

I only want to make a Christmas card -- personal, private, non-commercial. Who is Lynne?

nickedshield posted Sun, 07 November 2004 at 2:59 PM

It's actually Lyne's Creations, I've mis-spelled her name:( She makes fantastic animal textures and models, plus birds. The above url is correct though. Prices aren't bad and the quality is excellent.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Arduino has a full Christmas package for free. There is a Santa and also a sled complete with a reindeer. I haven't used it in awhile so I don't remember if the reindeer is posable or not though. You have to join the site but membership is free. Once you're a member, the sled and reindeer are here:

I think you may be able to view the page without joining.

damn, I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked yet. Asking for lending is a call for warez here, hon -- and illegal stuff like that is absolute zero tolerance. Usually it leads to some rather nasty flames, as well :( Definitely check out Vista -- best animals on the market.

Thanks, I'll check out the site. As for the righteous ones, don't get carried away. Lending or giving copywrited articles to individuals for personal, non-commercial use violates nothing. Have you never borrowed a book? Check with your patent lawyer.

moushie posted Mon, 08 November 2004 at 6:39 PM

Correction -- copyrighted, not copywrited

elizabyte posted Mon, 08 November 2004 at 7:33 PM

Lending or giving copywrited articles to individuals for personal, non-commercial use violates nothing. Wrong. You're dead wrong. In this case, it would be "illegal file sharing". Books don't have the same licensing terms as 3D objects. Redistributing copyrighted files IS a violation, regardless of the purpose. Please, PLEASE learn about copyright laws before you start sharing files around or engaging in other behavior which may be illegal. There's a copyright forum here at Renderosity if you want more information. bonni
