Hi guys, I'm going to buy a new pc for my little Bryce, I was thinking about moving to 64bit technology.
Does someone know if there are problems with Bryce and the new hardware?
thank you

No problems. Unless you consider it a problem that Bryce does utilize 64 bit. ;) Hopefully the new Bryce will take advantage of it.

Thx Jaymonjay. Hmmmm... maybe you're right Bryce with 64 bit may cause some distorsion in the space-time texture of the universe...

Yeah. Still, I'd go for it. Speed is good. :)

All the extra bits of better memory handling , stronger pipe prediction etc should help bryce along a little alongside the fact that these cpus go quicker.... Does that mean PCI-e as well???? If so go for ATI - nVidia still use an agp-pci-e converter on their cards so it's a little slower - and yes nVidia are due to change in their next set of releases.

I agree with Gog, ATI. I'm on my 3rd. And Yes, 64 structure is a plus. That will be my next Upgrade.

I just built my new computer and I'm using AMD 64 3200+ w/ 1.5GB ram. I have had no problems with bryce, except my coffee breaks are shorter during rendering:)

I have an Athlon 64 processor and a gig of ram in my system and have no problems what-so-ever. The 64 bit processor emulates 32 bit processing so there is not any problems running 32 bit applications with the 64 bit processor. You should have no problems at all if you put a 64 bit processor in your system. The only problem would be more processing power.... if you were to consider that a problem. 8) In my opinion... it is a wise choice.

I'd think you'd be happy with the 64. You may want to decide on which socket to use (on your motherboard). The 939 may offer you an upgrade path to one of their dual core chips later on down the line, so keep that in mind. Let us know what you come up with!
