Okay DAZ has Bryce for about 50$. Is it worth getting? I use mainly Poser5 and amapi 6. Does it accept Poser 5 files?

err... I'd hold off for bryce 5.5 to be perfectly honest. i mean bryce 5 has something called turbo importer which apparently does import (either exported or original native, I'm not sure) Poser files, but given that 5.5 should be coming soon, I'd wait for it just because it's going to have a faster render engine.
and hopefully get you off poser.
for good.
since poser [expletive deleted].
and we all know this.
like... totally.
dude.

No, it doesn't natively accept Poser files: but with the Turbo Importer (that is included with Bryce) you can upload .pz3 files in Daz Studio (that is free for now), then export it as Bryce files and then load it into Bryce (the file is a static one- you can't pose the models after importing). Try to see if Bryce is the app for you, and wait for the 5.5 release.

Keyreb, i have both the corel and DAZ bryce 5. installed the DAZ bryce today and in my opinion if they are selling it for $50 then buy it. My girlfriend bought the 3d starter bundle for $99 but with the discount she got it cost her $69. In that you get Bryce 5, turbo importer plus someother things for poser and DAZ Studio. It also gives you a voucher to get a discount on bryce 5.5 when it comes out. Go to their site and read the 3d starter bundle to see what you get for your money.

I'm pretty sure that the Bryce Turbo Importer from DAZ is a seperate purchase. It was only included with Bryce 5 until August 31 as a promotional thing. However, a Bryce 5 demo, the full Bryce 4 and Turbo Importer are on the latest 3D World mag cd (issue 59, Christmas 2004).

raven you are correct the Turbo Importer is a seperate purchase. If you buy the 3d Starter bundle from DAZ the Turbo importer is in with that.
