Anybody checked the review of Vue 5 in 3D World? It got 9/10, but the reviewer kept on complaining about what he would have liked to see in Vue 5 (esp. animated water), rather than talk about what was in there... I didn't think that was very fair. Anybody else read it?

Nope, haven't read it. Isn't that what most people do anyway....complain as to what is NOT in it any proggie yet. That said, I love my Vue(hopefully they'll get the OOM msgs worked out). Also, to go completely off topic, have you checked out what the new Terregan2 is going to have o.O. Go to that forum & check it out, the clouds are amazing! I will definately be adding that to the toolbox once it comes out. Unless VuePro5 will have these capabilites :)

A review is basically a nice way to phrase a "critique". A 9 out of 10 is more than a fair rating. I think people are just too used to the "Renderosity" rating system... ie; anything not an "Excellent" is poor. LOL. ;-)

That's 7 for the program features and 9 for the value for money. If I'd seen that before buying I wouldn't have had huge second thoughts. I read the review and found it interesting. The seeming obsession with the absence of animated water was a bit strange but this person is comparing with other programs that have managed to do just that. Also he speaks of the ridiculous render times in certain lighting options and there, I tend to agree with him. I love Vue, it's my favorite program and I can't live without it but quite frankly, I'm still trying to figure out why the heck I should be thrilled with version 5.
