Hi there, I'm working in a model with sunglasses, and for some reason the reflection map applied to the glass surface is not showing up in my renders... The surface itself is... well, like sunglasses are... semi transparent, dark, shiny... (all setup correctly in the texture room), and everything renders correctly excepting the reflection map...!! I've tried all the settings I thought were possible, but no reflections in the final render whatsoever... anyone knows what's going on here?

OUCH!!... Just when I posted, i went to vizualads.com and found the way to do it... jeeez, no reflection.. just glow! That's great. Sorry everyone! Ike.

Also make sure there is something (such as a skydome or HDRI background) surrounding the sunglasses so that it has something to reflect back.

I used a map to simulate the reflection...it shows up pretty well, but seems like being in the glow channel disables any other channel... am I right? The effect in shininess, or highlight is barely visible, its really annoying cause the reflection is there, but the surface is not shiny! Just looks like a matte surface with a reflection...??? I've been trying different things, but little success for now...

You can put your reflection map in either the glow or the color channel but use a Multiply operator with it using Value as the multiplier, and a value of about 15%, depending on your map. Don't have anything in Color if you're using Glow (and vice versa) but put a color in your Transparency channel. This will mean your shades cast nice colored light if you check 'Light through Transparency' in the Render options.
