Hello everyone! Awhile ago I saw a very good tutorial on how to make realistic weapons in Bryce. Since I would like to be able to use the app and since I can no longer find that tutorial(and all the ones since have been broken links, Grr). I was wondering if someone could post a link to a good tutorial or provide easy steps to make weapons (preferably bladed weapons).

Ohhhhnow you're crossing the line buddy... It's all well and good to suggest Wings for things...but when someone comes looking for Bryce specific Tut's and YOU turn them away that's just WRONG! Ok, so I make all my swords in wings now too but that is beside the point...

draculaz posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 12:35 PM

swords are actually okay to be done in Bryce since they're not that complicated. drac (or you could use wings)

Then If you have a tutorial on how to make weapons in wings then TELL ME!! PLEASE!! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!! Thank you.

ashgondai posted Wed, 24 November 2004 at 1:11 PM

But Bryce is still preferable.

ashgondai: I have a tut on manking a baskethilt sword in wings that went into one of the online magazine issues awhile back. I have the original doc. If you IM me with an email address I can send it to you. I've used wings quite a bit since doing the tut so there are probably easier ways to go about it, but it will give you a good starting point.

And a tut for making one IN Bryce.

there's tutorials here, and on the Wings site, for making various objects. Surprisingly, I didn't really actually make a 'real' sword until a few weeks ago. Just a 6-sided cylinder, with various extrusions, scaling, etc. For what I'd call a dull pic, it's gotten a surprising amount of visits..;)

I stopped using primitives models in Bryce the day after I discovered Wings..;) Now interiors..that's a different thing..;) It can be done in Bryce, but I don't have the attention span for ..what was that? cows!..;)
oh..and it wasn't me..orders from the local 509..;)

An excellent "in bryce" tut for knives and swords can be found here.

Thanks Claymor, for the link. The engraving tut has given me some great solutions.

I didn't expect a kind of Bryce Inquisition...

[Cardinals Bryster, Claymor, and F.W. Tempest burst in]

Bryster:"NOBODY expects the Bryce Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to Bryce and nice red uniforms!"- (with apologies to Monty Python)

(Raises his hand) Claymor:"Its an Inquisition, not a bloody schoolroom!" (Testily) Bryster:"What?" (Getting really p**sed-off) Claymor:"You forgot the HOLY HANDGRENADE OF ANTIOCK!" (raises his hands palm-upwards to heaven) Bryster:"No, I didn't!" Claymor:"Yes, you did!" Bryster:"I didn't" FW: "You did. You did!" (nods head enthusiasticly) Bryster:"That was a different thread altogether!" FW & Clamore: (Together) "Oh no it wasn't" Bryster:"Cut that out!" FW & Clamor:(Together) "What?"
