Hi folks,
I've spent a couple of hours on D|S 0.9.8 and I've been quite satisfied with its workflow. So OK it's not bad to doodle with pre-made stuff bought from DAZ, but as far as I know, there are no tools to create new figures from scratch ?
So I don't really understand the goal of this app. Essentially it's a stripped down version of Poser, less memory-hungry, but probably as buggy ...

If you want to create props and characters try wings3d, a free modeling program that is fairly easy to learn.

I wasn't talking about modelling anything. For that I indeed already use Wings. What I'm talking about is cerating a poseable character form a mesh. With Poser you can use the Setup Room or you can use the usual Poser 4 workflow. But with D|S, at least in the beta versions I've tried, there's nothing of the sort. The scene graph seems to use some "bone" notion, though. GKDantas, how exactly could you create a CR2 with it ?

You cant.... At thsi point I only use daz studio to collect for output to bryce for stills.

I cant do that...I use Vue and I use wyrmmaster deformers a lot... almost all my projects use it...so D|S only can be used for the Girl or other charactere that do not use deformers at all...

You know actually I do have a question about this? When I see that others have created different-looking V3 (or whatever) characters and giving them different names - are they doing that in Daz3d or are they doing that in the Poser program.
When using Daz3d If I take a basic V3 model and change things on her like her body parts, etc and the coloring - is it possible to save that character and then - say - upload it as a new character the way everyone else has been doing it? And then someone being able to download it and use it in DazStudio?
