I can get light through transparency. I can get soft partial shadows. But I can't get both. I've tried Yafray and Blender. This is Blender render.

This is Yafray. You see what I'm looking for? Like the Blender render only with slightly soft shadows on the wall. Any ideas?

I see what you're trying to do. I wish I could help, but I don't know how to do the stuff you did in the pics (transparency, soft shadows) in the first place lol How did you do that, looks very usefull.

I got help with the lights and shadows from this tutorial but it wasn't much help with the photon lamp. From the discription it doesn't look like what I want.

Just an update. Glass takes so long to render I've put this on hold. But this is how far I got. It was just a test anyway and sorry about the darkness, just haven't got things dialed in yet.
