DAZ is doing a sort of "advent calendar." In the Commons section of the forum. Every day until Christmas they are posting a new freebie. (Or maybe it's "every night." The first one went up at about midnight last night.)dbowers22 posted Thu, 02 December 2004 at 9:07 AM
Remind me again why some people here hate DAZ so much?

It's obviously just an evil plot to draw attention to their annual brokered products sale, and an attempt to stay ahead of RDNA's "Twelve Days of Christmas." ;-)

RDNA has 13 Days of Christmas and always has, they believe in always being Politically Correct and not just following the hordes.... oh, and note that RDNA's 13 Days of Christmas' in the past were all stand alone items not requiring purchases to use (no strings attached)

Yeah DAZ is the pits, they are such a con and an expensive con at that.

I'm sorry, but I sure don't like Daz's way of doing things. Including this so-called Christmas "freebie" giveaway. I feel that R'osity and RDNA are far far better to their customers. I salute them! :)

LOL! These posts are all jokes right? You're complaining that someone is giving away free material? It's just marketing. Every business does it if they want to succeed. If you want customers, offer them something to draw them to your business. If you don't want customers, .. well I hope you're not in a sales related business. :P

Aw, c'mon, folks. I can understand both sides here, but can't we put away the knives until after the holidays? Please?

The freebies are courtesy of the Published Artists' at Daz. They worked very hard on them and we are very happy to see so many people participating. We the forum Mods and the published artists thought that this would be a nice event. To show all of our customers that we appreciate them. As for following the hordes, and a con. These items are given away free (no charge no strings except being a member of Daz) You don't have to buy anything. If you don't want it don't download it. Don't need it don't take it. And for the following the hordes, We aren't claiming it's a new idea just that we are doing it as well. While not everything may be a stand alone - since we have texturer's, modelers, morphing experts and such participating - some will be. You never know what may turn up. However this is only a gift, and no one is screaming to go buy anything. Same as Rosity's give away (which btw has many add on products as well in the list- I know I downloaded some ;) ) Its the Forum Team's and the Published Artist's way of saying happy holidays. And that's all. JGreenlees Daz Forum Team

"RDNA has 13 Days of Christmas and always has, they believe in always being Politically Correct and not just following the hordes" What? how is 13 days of Christmas politically correct? Isn't being politically correct following the hordes (it is the in thing right now)? There is more strength in character in sticking to one's own beliefs rather than trying please everybody. Besides RDNA has always struck me as a snobbish and arrogant version of Rendrosity. I've never had a problem with DAZ and always received good things from them. Ok enough ranting thanks for heads-up

Some of the artists at DAZ are very good people... and my thanks are directed to them.
